Parenting isn’t easy, but it can become more stressful if you have the wrong supplies. We asked Facebook fans which baby items new parents should keep or leave, and here’s what they said.
Need it
Onesies
Out of all the clothing to give your little ones, fans suggested onesies and pajamas because they won’t bunch up. Comfort is key to a happy baby, so save the t-shirts and jeans for when they get older.
Dummy’s
Aside from soothing and calming your newborn, dummy’s will keep your baby from picking up bad habits like thumb sucking. As our Facebook fan Bonnie said, “Besides the soothing and suckling, when the child is old enough you can remove them gently. You cannot remove a thumb. Timing is everything.”
Child Harness
While some parents compared it to a dog leash, a larger amount of fans said the child harness is a stress reliever. Our Facebook fan Wanda even said her kids enjoyed the harness growing up.
“My kids told me they loved them because they could enjoy the outings as much as we did, and they have them for their kids.”
Leave it
Diaper Genie
Several of our fans trashed or gave away their Diaper Genie because they never used it. Sarah said it’s “More work than necessary. Jammed half the time anyway.”
Wipe Warmer
Similar to the Diaper Genie, several of our Facebook fans found wipe warmers to be unnecessary and a waste of money. Some even said it dried up their wipes. Elizabeth said “I never bought it and it wasn’t missed.”
Changing Table
A changing table can take up more room than it’s worth. As our Facebook fan Nicole said, “You rarely use it, and you change on the go wherever you can.” Others said changing your baby on the floor in your home will get the job done just as easily.
Other items that you may want to keep for the future or perhaps for more children in the future can be stored with MSS. We have storage from just £5.00 per week!
