Early on Sunday 27th January 2013, Colin, our employee get’s the call from his yacht at approximately 7:30am that a “gorgeous young lady named Sarah” is marooned on Cardiff Yacht Club’s Bridge Pontoon.
Fortunately she had Colin’s number (what girl doesn’t) – the call was due to Cardiff Bay being 6ft higher than it normally is, due to the snow thawing and heavy rain that had fallen. Sarah who had walked along the pontoon from her yacht had found that she was marooned and couldn’t get ashore, fortunately for Sarah she made it to her Yacht Club meeting in Bristol later that morning.
Colin was the only person around that morning, that had a dingy on the back of his yacht to get her ashore. It was because of his race sponsor Merthyr Self Storage, that he was on his yacht preparing to race “Hidden Secret” later that day.
