Last year Merthyr Self Storage proudly co-sponsored Matthew Foley on his mission to become a champion in The Ford Fiesta Championship.
The Ford Fiesta Championship started in 1997 as a Club Championship, having formerly been a Ford manufacturer series in the T.O.C.A. package of racing. The first year passed with good average grids being seen, and successive seasons seeing the numbers grow. The Fiesta cars run to a strict Group N format, which means that the emphasis is squarely on the drivers ability.
This is where Matthew’s keen eye, determination and swift decision-making skills really came into play. After fiercely fighting his way through the rounds Matthew’s determination paid off and he came first in the Championship in his class.
We are ecstatic for Matthew and glad that we played a part in his momentous day. So when Matthew returned to Merthyr Self Storage this year we were thrilled that he had thought of us again.
