A quick reminder that British Summer Time starts tomorrow morning at 1:00am, this means darker mornings and lighter evenings!
Think of all the things you’ll be able to do to take advantage of the brighter days and evenings.
Many digital clocks, computers and phones will automatically change tomorrow morning but remember to change those that don’t.
Why do we do it?
Following an energy crisis in the 1970’s the government decided that something needed to be done. It was decided that to allow more light in the evening (without using a power source) the clocks would be put forward by one hour. Thus making it brighter. This has been common practice ever since. Between 1968 and 1971 the UK stayed on constant daylight saving time.
