There’s a really simply answer to this one! Call us or send us an enquiry. We aim to get back to you as soon as possible. Alternatively, if you’re in the area then you can come and see the storage units for yourself.

If you find that you’re not storing as much as you first thought or are taking a few items out of storage then we can move you into one of our smaller units. With hundreds of rooms, we’ve always got space for you. The same goes if you need more space. Just let us know and we’ll do this for you. If you’re not sure how long you’re going to be staying then that’s not a problem either. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, we have a range of customer’s staying for one week to up and over a year.

This one shocks a lot of people – but yes! Our rooms are 10ft tall and there’s no height restriction on how high you want to put your things. Our staff are always on hand to help too.

Yes! All of our site is covered by the most modern CCTV systems available, we’re an extremely safe and secure compound with the best fire systems too. We ensure that your items are constantly protected, this is enforced by overnight security too.

The price you’re quoted is the price you’ll pay, it’s inclusive of all VAT and charges.

The cost depends upon the size of space you require. To work this out you can contact us here, or telephone us on 01685 377444 and speak to a member of our staff. You can then get a quote on a room of the right size. At Merthyr Self Storage we have lockers ranging from 25sq. ft. to over 400sq. ft. – and prices start from as little as £5 a week.

The price you are quoted by our staff includes your storage charge, rates, service charges, utility bills and maintenance costs. You will need a padlock to secure your room.

We invoice customers on a four weekly (28 day) basis, payable in advance.

We run regular offers for both new and existing customers so it’s always worth checking with us.

We offer a number of payment options including credit card, debit card, cheque and direct debit. Cash will only be accepted for payments after your initial payment when you move in.

We offer unlimited access to your goods seven days a week 365 days a year, so you can add or remove items from your space whenever you require.

No, but we do advise that you do because we have a high-turnover of rooms and we don’t want you to be disappointed.

Yes, a member of our staff will fill in our simple storage contract with you, and then you can move your goods in straight away. You will need to bring with you a suitable proof of identity (a passport); proof of address (a utility bill); and a means of payment.

We are open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00am to 5:30pm. You are able to access your goods in-between these hours. Just telephone us in advance.

No you don’t. You sign a straightforward Storage contract prior to ‘moving in’ to your space. Our staff will talk you through the contents of this simple agreement to make sure you understand the key points of what you’re committing to.

If your own vehicle isn’t suitable for transporting your things to Merthyr Self Storage, we also offer free van hire* for customers moving their goods in with us. If you do choose to drive then there’s ample, free on-site parking.

Our rooms start at 25sq. ft. gradually work their way up to over 240sq. ft.

You are welcome to move to another size room at any time, depending on your storage requirements (and, of course, the availability of other room sizes at the store).

Our rooms are 10ft high.

You can store almost anything at Merthyr Self Storage. The only exceptions are;

• Living items, such as animals and plants.
• Hazardous materials, such as flammable liquids and explosives.
• Items that could decompose, such as exposed foodstuffs.
• Unauthorised or illegal goods, such as drugs or firearms.

Our rooms are not heated. However, the temperature within our stores remains fairly constant, notwithstanding the season. Our modern buildings are very well insulated so that our stores are never too hot or unduly cold.

Merthyr Self Storage incorporates extensive security features, including:

• 24 hour Digital CCTV located both inside and outside the main building, monitoring all entrances and exits.
• A sophisticated alarm system for the building and storage space.
• A fire and smoke detection system
• Monitored security system able to react to any alarm activations

Our minimum storage period is seven days.

You are welcome to stay for a week, month, year – or for as long as you need.

We ask that you give us 14 days notice.

Yes, we sell an extensive range of packing materials from boxes to bubble wrap. Packing materials can be bought in person from our stores.

There will always be a trained member of staff available seven days a week during reception opening times.
