Hire Me Vehicle Rentals had an outing recently as it helped out 45 cyclists on their trek to Paris for Charity, Tenovus Cancer Care.
The support ranged from young to old(er)!
One of the Patrons, Daffyd James, the ex-Rugby star who played for Wales and the British and Irish Lions, said that he and a group of friends had gotten together and decided to do the cycle challenge as a hopeful way of raising £25,000.
The money which is absolutely vital in keeping front-line services active such as their Mobile Unit and Charity’s Help Line will be raised over 4 days and covering a massive 400 miles.
The excitement builds ahead of the groups mammoth bike ride
Daffyd went on to say that he was “glad and proud” that he could give something back after having a fantastic career whilst also raising the profile for a great charity which he described as close to his heart. He went on to say that he was delighted at the challenge although thrilled at what the end result would be and said that it was brilliant that the day would be bringing people whilst also making a considerable amount of money.
Cheryl George who works for the Charity said that she was “thrilled to have the guys heading off to Paris…” and she was “excited and glad that the sun was shining!”
Last minute preparations are made
Daffyd said that although he was nervous it was covered also with excited and that he was thrilled with the support and turn out that he had received.
We were thrilled that our Hire Me Vans played such an integral part of the day and are thrilled that our name could be associated with such a brilliant cause and charity.
